Crisis and Mental Health Counselling

You are here

Mental and emotional well-being is an integral part of overall health.  Most people experience times or situations in which their emotional well-being is compromised.  The Pender Islands Health Care Society (in partnership with MCFS and Island Health) provides free, confidential counselling for individuals, couples and families who are experiencing difficulties that are affecting their emotional health.
Services include:
• Crisis intervention for those experiencing a crisis situation affecting emotional well-being or the ability to cope and make decisions.
• Mental health support and counselling for those struggling with immediate or longer term emotional or relationship/family difficulties.
• Information about mental or emotional health problems, treatment options or coping strategies, and relevant services and organizations in the community. We can offer health information sessions about various emotional well-being issues to Pender Island community groups as well.
• Referrals to services and health care professionals that can provide further help.
• For individuals, couples, and families.
Services provided by appointment in person at the Health Centre, or in the home or by phone, if required.
